Palm Beach Clerk Cuts Hours
State Budget Cuts Force Clerk’s Office To Cut Hours and Mid-County Branch to Close
During the 2012 legislative session, Florida’s Clerks were handed significant budget cuts that will require drastic changes to our operations.
My budget for court services was slashed by $2.5 million for the upcoming 2013 fiscal year, which starts July 1. This latest cut required me to make some difficult choices that will affect anyone who does business in Palm Beach County courts.
Hours change: Starting July 2, the Clerk & Comptroller’s office will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, instead of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Branch closing: The Mid-County branch in Royal Palm Beach, which currently accepts traffic ticket payments two days a week, will close beginning July 2. This branch location was shut down previously after budget cuts in 2009 but had partially reopened last year.
