Are Mailing Addresses required on e-filed pleadings in State Court?

This is probably the most frequent question I get from my readers….  Most people do not include mailing addresses in their certificates of service now that documents are being e-filed… However… what do you think? Are mailing addresses required?

If you look at the order SC13-1915  which is here: http://www.floridasupremecourt.org/decisions/2013/sc13-1915.pdf it says on page 5 at the bottom: “Finally, to address concerns raised by some clerks of court and judicial assistants, rule 2.516(f) (Certificate of Service) is amended to require that the mailing addresses of those served be included in the certificate of service.”

Basically, the required form of the certificate of service was modified to ADD the language “and mailing addresses”
