DCBA Paralegal Committee – Membership Update

Hi everyone, just a brief update regarding the DCBA Paralegal Committee. For some time I have been asking the DCBA to reconsider its requirement that paralegal members must be FRPs. There are many rockstar paralegals who aren’t FRPs and it is such a shame that they have to be excluded. The great news is that they have recently changed the bylaws to allow NALA or NFPA certified/registered paralegals in addition to FRPs.

The DCBA membership cost for paralegals is $85 for 1 year or $200 for 3 years (save $55 and protect from price increases for 3 years!!), you can see the application here: https://www.dadecountybar.org/forms/paralegal.php (the membership requirement change is so new the application hasn’t been updated yet, but the change is in effect).
