Broward County Order re: ADA Language / Accomodations Issued February 19, 2014
Pursuant to new Broward Administrative Order dated 2-19-14, which can be found HERE; the new ADA language for the Fifteenth Seventeenth Judicial Circuit is as follows:
All matters noticed or ordered for a hearing or conference before a judge or quasi judicial officer or court administration program shall contain, in boldface, 14-point Times New Roman or Courier font, the following:
If you are a person with a disability who needs any accommodation in order to participate in this proceeding, you are entitled, at no cost to you, to the provision of certain assistance. ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER REGARDING PROVISION OF
ADA ACCOMMODATIONS
(a) Florida Rule of Judicial Administration 2.215(b)(3) states the chief judge shall
“considering available resources, ensure the efficient and proper administration of all courts within [this] circuit.”
(b) Florida Rule of Judicial Administration 2.540 governs Requests for Accommodations by Persons with Disabilities.
(c) In accordance with the authority vested in the chief judge by Florida Rule of Judicial Administration 2.215, it is ordered:
(1) The Trial Court Administrator shall post on the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit’s web page the procedures for requesting accommodations from the court or court administration program and the grievance procedures that allow for the resolution of complaints.
(2) The Trial Court Administrator shall post at each courthouse the procedures for requesting accommodations from the court or court administration program and grievance procedures that allow for the resolution of complaints.
(3) The Clerk of Courts and any individual or entity contracting with the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit shall comply with the requirements of Florida Rule of Judicial Administration 2.540.

(5) The Administrative Order vacates and supersedes Administrative Order 2010-49-Gen.

I’m wondering why this would read “Broward Administrative Order” and refers to the “Fifteenth Judicial Circuit” when in fact Broward County is the “Seventeenth Judicial Circuit” and Palm Beach County is the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit. Am I missing something here? Thank you.
No reason other than I made a mistake ;)… I actually had originally typed Seventeenth and then thought oh no I meant Fifteenth and changed it lol…
